Last week the Parlier Lions Club hosted the Annual Student Speaker Contest for Parlier High School students. Three courageous students presented speeches to an audience that included Lions Club members, PUSD staff, and three judges. Their speeches on "Distance and Online Learning: Pros and Cons" were very insightful. It was great to hear the students' perspective on the challenges and the benefits of distance learning.
Congratulations to Nayeli Ignacio Reyes, senior at Parlier High School!! Nayeli took 1st place and earned a $100 cash prize from the Parlier Lions Club. She will now represent Parlier at the zone level competition scheduled for March 24, 2021. Alejandra Esquivel Pacheco and Estevan Padron, were our finalists and were each awarded a $25 check from the Parlier Lions Club.

La semana pasada, el Club de Leones de Parlier organizó el Concurso Anual de Oradores de Estudiantes para los estudiantes de la escuela preparatoria de Parlier (PHS). Tres valientes estudiantes presentaron discursos ante una audiencia que incluía miembros del Club de Leones, personal de PUSD y tres jueces. Sus discursos sobre "Aprendizaje a distancia y en línea: pros y contras" fueron muy reveladores. Fue genial escuchar la perspectiva de los estudiantes sobre los desafíos y los beneficios del aprendizaje a distancia.
¡¡Felicitaciones a Nayeli Ignacio Reyes, estudiante de último año (senior) de Parlier High School!! Nayeli obtuvo el primer lugar y ganó un premio en efectivo de $100 del Club de Leones de Parlier. Ahora representará a Parlier en la competencia a nivel de zona programada para el 24 de marzo del 2021. Alejandra Esquivel Pacheco y Estevan Padron, fueron nuestros finalistas y cada uno recibió un cheque de $25 del Club de Leones de Parlier.
