On July 18, 2018 Governor Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 2644, introduced by Assembly member Eloise Reyes-Gomez (AD-47), designating April 10th as Dolores Huerta Day, making civil rights leader and community organizer, Dolores Huerta the first and only living person to hold this honor. Assembly Bill 2644 adds Section 37222.20 to the Education Code, stating “On Dolores Huerta Day, all public schools and educational institutions are encouraged to conduct exercises remembering the life of Dolores Huerta, recognizing her accomplishments, and familiarizing pupils with the contributions she made to this state”.
Parlier Unified School District Board of Trustees and administration would like to proclaim April 10, 2021 as Dolores Huerta Day. All schools in the Parlier Unified School District are encouraged to teach about the life and struggles of Dolores Huerta, the rich history of the Central Valley and to conduct celebrations honoring the life of Dolores Huerta as a powerful force for social justice and empowerment for all.

El 18 de julio de 2018, el gobernador Jerry Brown firmó el Proyecto de Ley de la Asamblea 2644, presentada por la asambleísta Eloise Reyes-Gómez (AD-47), que designa el 10 de abril como el Día de Dolores Huerta, convirtiendo a la líder de derechos civiles y organizadora comunitaria, Dolores Huerta en la primera y única persona para tener este honor. El Proyecto de Ley de la Asamblea 2644 agrega la Sección 37222.20 al Código de Educación, que establece que “En el Día de Dolores Huerta, se alienta a todas las escuelas públicas e instituciones educativas a realizar ejercicios que recuerden la vida de Dolores Huerta, reconozcan sus logros y familiaricen a los alumnos con las contribuciones que hizo a éste estado".
La Mesa Directiva y la administración del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Parlier desean proclamar el 10 de abril de 2021 como el Día de Dolores Huerta. Se anima a todas las escuelas del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Parlier a enseñar sobre la vida y las luchas de Dolores Huerta, la rica historia del Valle Central y a realizar celebraciones en honor a la vida de Dolores Huerta como una fuerza poderosa para la justicia social y el empoderamiento para todos.
