Dear Parlier Unified School District Community,
This notice is to inform the Parlier Unified School District (PUSD) community that the district has recently received funding from the State of California as part of the “Bottled Water for Schools Program” to provide students and staff with bottled drinking water. This water will be delivered regularly throughout the school year and will be the primary source of hydration for students and staff.
As you may know, 1,2,3, TCP has been detected at a concentration above the primary drinking water standard in the City of Parlier’s community water system (CA1010025). Bottled water will continue to be provided on campus until the City’s water is back into compliance or until the length of this grant. Bottled water will remain the source of drinking water for students and staff. For more information, please contact Cristina Knudsen, Waterboards Engineer, at 559-731-1208.
The City has applied for Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) construction funding. Based on their proposed preliminary engineering report, the City is proposing to treat their six contaminated wells with granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption. The City has an executed agreement as of 1/17/2023. Depending on how long design and construction takes, it may be until mid/late 2024 for the long-term project to be implemented.
This is intended as an informational notice letting you know that water accessibility will be available through various bottled water stations located throughout each of these PUSD school sites: Benavidez, Brletic, Chavez, Martinez, Parlier High, Parlier Junior High, and San Joaquin High.
Parlier USD strives to create a safe learning and working environment for its students and staff. The implementation of bottled water delivery will ensure students and staff are provided water that meets primary drinking water standards and can stay properly hydrated. As an eco-friendly approach, we also encourage everyone to bring refillable water bottles; however, paper water cups are being provided as an alternative.

Este aviso es para informar a la comunidad del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Parlier (PUSD) que el distrito recibió recientemente fondos del Estado de California como parte del "Programa de agua embotellada para las escuelas" para proporcionar agua embotellada a los estudiantes y al personal. Esta agua se entregará regularmente durante el año escolar y será la principal fuente de hidratación para los estudiantes y el personal.
Como sabrá, se ha detectado 1,2,3, TCP en una concentración superior al estándar principal de agua potable en el sistema de agua comunitario de la ciudad de Parlier (CA 1010025). Se seguirá proporcionando agua embotellada a los campus hasta que el agua de la ciudad vuelva a cumplir con los requisitos o hasta la duración de esta subvención. El agua embotellada seguirá siendo la fuente de agua potable para los estudiantes y el personal. La ciudad ha solicitado fondos para la construcción del Fondo Rotatorio Estatal de Agua Potable (DWSRF, por sus siglas en inglés). La ciudad tiene un acuerdo ejecutado a partir del 01/17/2023. Dependiendo de cuánto tiempo tome el diseño y la construcción, puede ser hasta mediados o finales de 2024 para que se implemente el proyecto a largo plazo.
Este es un aviso informativo que le informa que el acceso al agua estará disponible a través de varias estaciones de agua embotellada ubicadas en cada uno de estos sitios escolares del PUSD: Benavidez, Brletic, Chávez, Martinez, Preparatoria de Parlier, Secundaria de Parlier y la Preparatoria del Valle de San Joaquín.
El Distrito de Parlier se esfuerza por crear un ambiente seguro de aprendizaje y trabajo para sus estudiantes y personal. La implementación de la entrega de agua embotellada garantizará que los estudiantes y el personal reciban agua que cumpla con los estándares primarios de agua potable y puedan mantenerse adecuadamente hidratados. Como enfoque ecológico, también alentamos a todos a traer botellas de agua reutilizables; sin embargo, se proporcionan vasos de agua de papel como alternativa.
