PARLIER HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY ATTENDANCE
TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY FOR ALL SPORTS
Attendance Eligibility: Students may not have more than 15 truancies or 15 tardies. Attendance will be checked every Tuesday and Friday. To clear absences, students must attend Saturday school. If a student exceeds 15 absences or tardies, they will be ineligible until their record is cleared through lunch detention, after school detention, or Saturday school.
All unexcused absences and tardies are used to determine whether a student satisfy attendance eligibility requirements. Students and parents/guardians will be notified every marking period regarding their student’s attendance percentage to ensure clear communication and provide the opportunity for proactive correction. Students can increase their attendance by attending class and being on time, additionally, any absence must be reported to the Attendance Office within 48 hours.
Students who have excessive unexcused absences and/or tardies may be removed immediately from practices and/or competitions. In addition, students must be attendance eligible to participate in school activities. Please see Attendance Eligibility in the Attendance section of this handbook for additional information.
